Programmes
Pre Competition and Rhythmflex
This is all about development of apparatus and body technique. In these classes the coach will develop your child towards competing in the levels programme. Your child will develop skills and confidence and work towards personal goals. Your child will also learn rhythm, learn how to remember a sequence of steps, and basic handling and body skills. |
Special Olympics
This class is approximately an hour and a half on a Saturday morning. These young women learn new body skills, apparatus handling, and 1 - 3 routines. They compete throughout the year at club competitions in Auckland. This class is only for women who have an intellectual disability. |
Levels (Nationals programme)
At Xtreme we train gymnasts who compete from level 1 through to level 10. Your child will be placed in the appropriate level following assessment by a senior coach. Depending on the level your child competes in, they will compete using apparatus including rope, ball, hoop, clubs, ribbon and freehand. |
Stages (Pre-international)
The stages programme is for girls aged up to 12 years old. These gymnasts are selected and trained by Xtreme’s top coaches in preparation for the international programme. The gymnasts train approximately four times a week. |
International
This is only offered to gymnasts selected by the head coach. This programme has two age-based categories - junior international and senior international. The junior programme is for 13-15 years old and senior for 16 and over. These gymnasts train approximately 5 times a week. |
Masters
This is a special programme in association with the Masters Games. We do not currently hold a regular class for this, however training can be arranged on request. |
